The plague inside must be contained,
I killed the open for the threat they posed.
Starve the tricky to keep thoughts drained.
Hoarders stay free, for they keep me,
The obedient get combined for strength in numbers,
But the observant get blinded for the sights they see.
Multiple births get canceled throughout the summers.
This land will not fail, there is no option,
For used to be soon mother there is adoption.
My colony quickly expanded as i matured,
Its dangerous to be free yet lost,
My path was finally found, no longer detoured .
And i will never stray again, no matter the cost.
Internal struggle broken down into the different parts. Its hard to see our selves in every light and you did it quite well. The wording was full of imagination, and metaphors are placed beautifully. good job
ReplyDeleteI am loving this one. I know you love the other one more but I dunno...this one is powerful. I love how the story unfolds and connects. I read so much into this one and I can hang on to every word. It leaves me feeling so much more in tune with you and your mind.

ReplyDeleteI expect this type of self honesty in every single one of your poems from now on. searching in every experience for lessons, no matter if they are dark and painful and telling stories of growth. poetry should be a journey for the reader and it is something you are getting better at doing with every single post. in time i expect you to reach deeper with in yourself, and as you do, you will find more of who YOU really are. amazing sir, please keep writing, don't get discouraged.

p.s. although I understand the title ..part of me was reminded of "Every where you go there you are" when I read this again [it just seemed ironic the other was titled every where i am.
